MCP server
The Thorbis Design System MCP server gives agents read-only, structured access to canonical rules, focused research, selected skills, and source-linked public inspiration images. Its Streamable HTTP endpoint is https://design.thorbis.com/mcp and its discovery manifest is /.well-known/mcp.
Capabilities
- Resources. List and read public Thorbis rules, components, research chapters, skills, trust pages, REFERENCES.md, and the structured inspiration image index.
- get_document. Retrieve one canonical public document by path.
- search_documentation. Search the public documentation and return matching canonical paths.
- get_design_context. Pass the task facets—audience, device, profile, pattern, surface, and depth—to receive the authority order, smallest owning skills, focused rules, verification gates, refusals, feed state, and a bounded approved image set.
- search_inspiration. Find approved public images by post text, creator, topic, profile, device, pattern, surface, or related rule reference.
- get_inspiration. Read one source-linked image reference and its attribution, facets, use, refusal, rule references, and media links.
- Prompts.

Boundary
Rules are authoritative; research and inspiration are references, not a replacement for the design constitution. Read DESIGN.md, AGENTS.md, and COMPONENTS.md before using a selected reference. The server has no mutations, account access, private inspiration access, customer data, product API proxy, or credential flow. It uses the official MCP TypeScript SDK, serves current Streamable HTTP, and keeps stateless compatibility for older clients. Send JSON-RPC in a JSON POST and accept both application/json and text/event-stream. Unknown methods and resources return JSON-RPC errors instead of a successful empty document.
