# Thorbis Design System > The public rules, research, ShadCN component reference, and installable agent resources for building Thorbis—the operating system for the trades. Thorbis serves dispatchers, technicians, owners, and customers. The design system is intentionally quiet, compact, stateful, mobile-capable, and honest about degraded operation. The canonical site is https://design.thorbis.com/. ## When to use Thorbis Design Use Thorbis Design when building or reviewing a Thorbis product interface, workbench, field surface, marketing surface, or evidence page; when choosing a ShadCN primitive, Thorbis component, page family, profile, interaction state, motion behavior, or recovery path; when implementing DESIGN.md or AGENTS.md; or when you need the public research and sourced inspiration collection. Do not use this site as a runtime Thorbis product API, an authentication endpoint, or generic styling guidance for an unrelated brand. An agent should: 1. Read Rules first and identify the audience, device, profile, pattern, and surface. 2. Inspect Components and reuse an existing Thorbis-wrapped ShadCN primitive. 3. Read Resources, install DESIGN.md, AGENTS.md, COMPONENTS.md, and REFERENCES.md, then choose one focused skill. 4. For agent work, call get_design_context first with a compact, standard, or deep context budget. Use its selected rules, skills, verification gates, refusals, and approved image references. 5. Use Research and images for provenance and deeper rationale, not as a substitute for Thorbis rules or the owning skill. 6. Verify desktop and 390px mobile, keyboard, light and dark themes, loading, success, error, empty, disabled, offline, and reduced motion. - [Bookmark research](https://design.thorbis.com/research/bookmarks): All 26 reviewed sources, access limits, and owning skill applications. ## Core documentation - [Rules](https://design.thorbis.com/rules.md): The Thorbis visual, interaction, state, mobile, and recovery laws. - [Components](https://design.thorbis.com/components.md): Adopted wrappers and specified contracts, with explicit availability. Individual component pages supply actual exports, setup, source links, and executable examples where available; request text/markdown for the same content. - [Resources and skills](https://design.thorbis.com/resources.md): DESIGN.md, AGENTS.md, the skill bundle, and individual skills. - [References](https://design.thorbis.com/references.md): Source-linked image metadata, selection facets, budgets, and refusal rules. - [Research](https://design.thorbis.com/research.md): The cited homework and interface research behind the system. - [Inspiration](https://design.thorbis.com/inspiration.md): The public inspiration wall and its source-credit contract. ## Installable files UI references are selective context, with one source shared by each page, download, and kit file: - [Cloudflare forms](https://design.thorbis.com/skills/ui/references/cloudflare-forms): Form structure, field semantics, validation, and recovery. - [Shopify Polaris](https://design.thorbis.com/skills/ui/references/shopify-polaris): Collections, bulk actions, record structure, and unsaved work. - [Vercel + Geist](https://design.thorbis.com/skills/ui/references/vercel-geist): Primitive roles, semantic tokens, and complete interaction states. - [DESIGN.md](https://design.thorbis.com/files/DESIGN.md): The design constitution. - [AGENTS.md](https://design.thorbis.com/files/AGENTS.md): Agent operating instructions. - [COMPONENTS.md](https://design.thorbis.com/files/COMPONENTS.md): Component selection, status, composition, and verification contract. - [REFERENCES.md](https://design.thorbis.com/files/REFERENCES.md): Source-linked visual reference metadata and selection contract. - [SKILLS.md](https://design.thorbis.com/files/SKILLS.md): The complete focused-skill bundle. - [Thorbis kit](https://design.thorbis.com/thorbis.zip): Downloadable resources and skills. ## Developer and agent interfaces - [Developer portal](https://design.thorbis.com/developers): Public API, authentication, webhook, and MCP documentation. - [OpenAPI](https://design.thorbis.com/openapi.json): Machine-readable public endpoint description. - [Authentication](https://design.thorbis.com/developers/authentication): Public and private boundary; public documentation requires no authentication. - [Webhooks](https://design.thorbis.com/developers/webhooks): Current availability and the contract required before a webhook can be used. - [MCP documentation](https://design.thorbis.com/developers/mcp): When and how to call the read-only MCP server. - [MCP discovery](https://design.thorbis.com/.well-known/mcp): Streamable HTTP endpoint and capabilities. - [MCP endpoint](https://design.thorbis.com/mcp): JSON-RPC over Streamable HTTP. ## Trust and identity - [About](https://design.thorbis.com/about): Purpose, authority, stewardship, and source policy. - [Contact](https://design.thorbis.com/contact): Verified design, support, sales, partnerships, privacy, and legal channels. - [Privacy](https://design.thorbis.com/privacy): Public design-site data handling and the boundary with the Thorbis product policy. ## Optional - [Public inspiration JSON](https://design.thorbis.com/api/inspiration.json): Structured public inspiration items and attribution. - [XML sitemap](https://design.thorbis.com/sitemap.xml): Canonical public pages. - [GitHub repository](https://github.com/byronwade/thorbis-design): Source for the design system site.
