The box is the first use of the product. Parts come out in order, protected, with the tool and one large sheet. Fiber does the job plastic used to do.
Protect every part, and include the tool.

Upholstered parts stay bagged. Metal sits on foam. Small parts live in a labeled box. The toolkit is in the carton: the TITAN Evo manual lists a magnetic screwdriver, a reversible bit, an allen key, and the screws. Heavy cartons get handles. Secretlab's own chair is a one-person build; do not ship a dense box the owner cannot lift.
Why: Assembly is the first hour with the product; a missing tool or a loose screw mix wastes it.

Fiber where fiber works.

New packaging is fiber: paperboard, molded pulp, a paper tab or tuck. No loose plastic bags and no foam peanuts when pulp can hold the part. Large boxes break down flat for a home bin. Plastic remains only where a part would be damaged without it, and the spec says why.
Why: The box is the first thing they touch and the first thing they throw away; loose plastic stays in the bin.

One large sheet, pictures first.

Instructions are one sheet the size of the work, readable from the floor. Pictures lead, words follow. A video is the backup, linked with a QR code, not the only manual.
Why: A sheet they can see from the floor beats a booklet they have to hold open with a knee.

Parts come out in assembly order.

The sheet is on top. Then the body. Then the small-parts box. Do not make the owner dig past a bag of screws to find the thing they are building.
Why: If the screws come out before the body, they start in the wrong place.

Publish the build time.
pd-box-time
Status: proposed.
State how long assembly takes and whether one person can do it. TITAN Evo is documented around 20 minutes for most people, with reviewers landing between about 10 and 30. If a product needs two people, say so on the box.
Why: An owner plans the afternoon around the build, and a surprise second person or an extra hour ruins that plan.

The Surface Pro 7 fact sheet lists the device, a 65 W supply, a quick start guide, and safety documents, and says the keyboard and pen are sold separately. The 11th Edition fact sheet lists the device, a quick start guide, safety documents, and a 39 W supply only with specific configurations in select markets, and it says the keyboard and pen are sold separately. Its packaging line is paper-based, minimizing plastic, with virgin paper from FSC-certified sources. Microsoft's Surface sustainability page, updated 16 June 2026, prints model-specific fiber figures, including at least 70 percent recycled content in wood-based fiber packaging for Surface Pro 13-inch and 72 percent recycled content in 100 percent fiber-based packaging for the 13.8-inch and 15-inch laptops, using IEEE 1680.1. Print what is in the box, whether power and the keyboard are included, and the fiber figure for that box.
Why: A box called thoughtful is not a spec until its model-specific fiber figure, contents, and separately sold accessories are printed.
