Xbox

On a console the board becomes a wall: big type, one focus, and a controller. The job and its words are the web's. The frame, the buttons, and the guide belong to Xbox. The ten-foot rules on the hub apply here first.

Web counterpart

The web board and job sheet, read from across a room.

What carries

  • The job, its status words, and its money.
  • Electric blue as the focus ring.
  • Honest states, including stale after resume.

Plus everything on the shared list.

What the host owns

  • The Xbox button and the guide. Never intercept them.
  • Official Xbox button art for A, B, X, Y, View, and Menu.
  • Narrator, high contrast, and system text size.
  • Quick Resume and suspend.

Rules

The ten-foot rules apply first. These add the hands.

  • A selects. B backs. A does the focused thing. B closes the top layer. X and Y are optional and screen-specific, and the legend names them.
  • Bumpers switch tabs. Triggers page. LB and RB move between top tabs and wrap. LT and RT jump a page in long lists. Neither commits anything.
  • View and Menu have jobs. Menu opens actions for the focused item. View opens options for the whole screen. Neither is ever Back.
  • Follow the Xbox Accessibility Guidelines. Text size, contrast, subtitles, input remapping, and Narrator are product work, not polish. The XAG is the checklist.
  • No Xbox costume. We do not use Xbox green, the sphere, or dashboard tiles as our look. Only the button glyphs are theirs to show.

We refuse

  • A mouse cursor mode for app screens.
  • PlayStation glyphs on Xbox.
  • Xbox green as an accent.
